ABIB's curriculum is grounded in principles of development and learning, aimed at fostering the full potential of students. The Bilingual Academy Inter Barranquitas uses the curriculum framework of the Department of Education of Puerto Rico. The curriculum framework is enriched with a variety of elective courses and the opportunity to participate in university courses starting from the tenth grade.
The Bilingual Academy Inter Barranquitas is committed to the following curriculum offering standards, as stipulated by the COGNIA Accreditation Agency:
A minimum of 180 days / 1,100 hours of instruction annually
Based on the minimum required for accreditation::
130 hours of instruction (minimum) | 1 credit = 1 |

32 hours of instruction (minimum) | ¼ credit = 0.25 |

Elective and University Courses
As part of the educational experience at ABIB, students participate semestrially in elective courses that enrich the curriculum. Similarly, students in grades 10 and above can take university-level courses, which provide preparation for their future university transition.
